The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced on Apr. 8 that it is developing plans to rehabilitate Bridge 07114, which carries Route 372 over Trout Brook No. 1 in Plainville.
The project aims to repair or replace the culvert endwall and install a new traffic barrier. The design phase is expected to be completed by March 2029, with construction anticipated to begin in the fall of that year, pending project approval, funding availability, and receipt of necessary right-of-way and environmental permits. Funding for the project will come from both federal (80 percent) and state (20 percent) sources.
CTDOT said it values public involvement in such projects and encourages community members to share their concerns during development. “It is important that the community share its concerns with CTDOT to assist in the project’s development,” CTDOT said. Questions or comments can be directed to Gregory Funk, Principal Engineer.
