The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced on Apr. 8 that it is planning to replace the existing fuel oil aboveground storage tank at its New Haven Maintenance Facility. The design for the project is expected to be completed by September 2026, with construction anticipated to begin in spring 2027, pending project approval, funding availability, and necessary permits.
The planned upgrades also include replacing the current diesel underground storage tank and fuel island with a new fuel island, diesel aboveground storage tank (AST), unleaded AST, and a diesel exhaust fluid tank at the maintenance facility located at 35 Ella T Grasso Boulevard in New Haven. The department said these improvements aim to enhance operations at the maintenance site.
“The purpose of this project is to improve the operations of our maintenance facility,” according to CTDOT’s statement. The department emphasized its policy of keeping the public informed about such projects and invited interested individuals to contact Project Engineer Kyle J Pelletier for more information regarding Project No. 0092-0707.
