The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced on April 22 a new traffic pattern for the Route 130 (Stratford Avenue) bridge over the Pequonnock River in Bridgeport, which will begin on April 23 and remain in place until the fall.
The lane shift is part of Stage 2 construction for CTDOT Project No. 0015-0339, which aims to improve infrastructure and maintain safe travel across the bridge. The project was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. at a cost of $38,988,223.20 and is scheduled for completion by November 30, 2026.
Travel lanes on Route 130 will be shifted from the south side to the north side of the bridge starting April 6, with one travel lane open in each direction. Traffic control signs will guide motorists through the work zone during this period. Motorists are advised to drive safely while passing through this area.
