Christopher Santiago-Rosado, a 32-year-old resident of Bridgeport, was sentenced to five years in federal prison for his role in distributing fentanyl. The sentence was delivered by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden in New Haven. Santiago-Rosado will also serve four years of supervised release following his imprisonment.
The investigation began in 2024 when the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force and the Bridgeport Police Department looked into an open-air drug market operating around Noble Avenue and Shelton Street in Bridgeport. Authorities conducted 11 controlled purchases of narcotics from different sellers between March and September of that year. Investigators used court-authorized wiretaps and physical surveillance to uncover that Santiago-Rosado, along with others, supplied fentanyl to those selling drugs in the area.
Santiago-Rosado was arrested on February 13, 2025. He pleaded guilty on November 3, 2025, to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 40 grams or more of fentanyl.
Currently released on a $150,000 bond, Santiago-Rosado must report to prison by March 26.
“This investigation has been conducted by the FBI Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force, the Bridgeport Police Department, and the Stratford Police Department. The Task Force is composed of personnel from the FBI, Connecticut State Police, and the Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Trumbull Police Departments. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark,” according to David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
