The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has announced a virtual public information meeting to discuss the replacement of Bridge No. 04814, which carries Kenyonville Road over Still River in Woodstock. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom.

The purpose of the meeting is to allow the public and local community to provide feedback or ask questions about the proposed project. A question and answer session will follow the presentation, and it will be recorded. Interested participants can find instructions for accessing the meeting and submitting comments on portal.ct.gov/DOTWoodstock169-131.

Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Engineer Michelle Rame stated, “This project will address the poor condition of the current structure by designing a new bridge that meets all current design and load standards, improving safety for all roadway users.” Rame encourages public participation to incorporate feedback into the design process.

The project involves right-of-way impacts such as partial permanent takes, drainage right-of-way, and permanent slope easements on three properties. Construction is projected to begin in spring 2027, contingent upon funding, right-of-way acquisition, and permits. The estimated cost stands at $4 million with federal funds covering 80% and state funds covering 20%.

For those with limited internet access, the meeting can be accessed by phone at (877) 853-5257 using Meeting ID 869 3613 4812. Telecommunications Relay Services are available for individuals with hearing or speech disabilities by dialing 711. Those unable to access online resources may request mailed project information from Michelle Rame at Michelle.Rame@ct.gov or (860) 594-3319.

Language assistance services are available upon request through CTDOT’s Language Assistance Call Line at (860) 594-2109; requests should be made five business days before the meeting. Non-English language closed captioning will also be provided during the Zoom session.

Public comments and questions can be submitted during a two-week period following the meeting until Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Comments should reference Project No. 0169-0131 and can be sent via email to DOT-FLBP@ct.gov or through voicemail at (860) 594-2020.
